Winter in Winifrede Hollow

Winter in Winifrede Hollow

A light snow fell this morning, less than an inch. Its simple beauty makes us look forward to a real snow that covers it all. Even with such a light coating, the hills were beautiful. Really, this pic does not do justice to just how magnificent are the trees on the hillsides surrounding the church.

  1. Looks very nice. We almost had enough to cover the grass and a two hour delay for school. I am looking forward to a really good snow. Hopefully this will be the year.

  2. Dad>Looking forward to spending Christmas with our children and grandchildren. Would open the door to Whitney and family if they were so inclined. Things get hectic sometimes, but overall we wouldn't have it any other way.

Jan>Whose woods these are I think I know/His house is in the village though... Your lovely picture brings Frost's poem to mind... Also, Over the winter glaciers /I see the summer glow;/And through the wild-piled snow-drift/The warm rosebuds below... Looking forward to snowdrifts and rosebuds in Winifrede...chicken n dumplings and low country boil suppers, too...
I really love the dusting of snow, D, when it's just enough to highlight the terrain... Love to all....
