Bills's Go Way Back in WV

bills-heritage-pics-005

The gravestone of my great-great-great-great-great grandfather, located in Pleasants County WV.  John Enoch Bills was born in 1763 and died in 1852, aged 91 years.   He was a revolutionary war veteran.  We have also located the burial places of his grandson all the way down through my grandfather.  We have not located the gravesites of his father and son.  A more recent marker honoring his service to our country is at his feet.

  1. Dennis,
Totally cool. I don't know much about my ancestory. All my greats, except maybe one was born in Sweden or Russia (they're German mind you). Do know when he moved to this area? He must have been one of the early settlers in this area. He would have been around Daniel Boone's time, about 20 years younger.

  2. Hi Dennis,
I stumbled across your website doing research on the Bills family. John Enoch Bills was my great great great grandfather. I was wondering if you have any more information on the family beyond John. I have been researching for awhile and have not been able to go any farther back than John's father. It was really great finding your site and seeing his actual gravesite. I guess we're probably very distant cousins in some way. Hope to hear from you.
